Who holds power inside the series' MI5.
In Slow Horses MI5 is run from Regent's Park by the Director General, known as First Desk, with the head of operations, Second Desk, below. Diana Taverner holds the Second Desk role for most of the series.
Lore & Background
The internal security unit, called the Dogs, is led first by Nick Duffy and later by Emma Flyte. Political pressure comes from Peter Judd, a right-wing politician who becomes Home Secretary. After Ingrid Tearney resigns, Claude Whelan becomes First Desk.
