MI5 (The Security Service)
The Security Service in Mick Herron's spy stories.
MI5, the Security Service, is the agency every Slough House story revolves around. Slough House is the MI5 unit for officers who have failed badly but not badly enough to be sacked.
Lore & Background
Its leaders change over the series: Ingrid Tearney is Director General until the Footprint file forces her out, Claude Whelan follows her as First Desk, and Diana Taverner takes over after Whelan resigns.
