Efraasia is a genus of basal sauropodomorph dinosaur that lived during the late Norian stage of the Late Triassic, around 210 million years ago, in what is now Germany. It was a herbivore, lightly built and medium-sized, reaching about 6 to 7 meters (20 to 23 ft) in length. The genus was named in 1973 after Eberhard Fraas, who collected the original type specimens in the early twentieth century. The taxonomic history of Efraasia is complicated, with its fossils originally assigned to three separate genera and species before being combined into a single valid species, Efraasia minor, in 2003.

The first fossils now assigned to Efraasia were discovered after 1902, when Albert Burrer, a court master stonemason at Maulbronn, began quarrying at the Weiße Steinbruch near Pfaffenhofen in Württemberg. To reach a layer of hard white sandstone, a 6-meter-thick overburden of softer marl was removed, which contained many vertebrate fossils. From 1906 until the quarry closed in 1914, Burrer donated the finds to paleontologist Professor Eberhard Fraas of the königliche Stuttgarter Naturalienkabinett.

Friedrich von Huene first described a specimen (SMNS 11838) in 1907–1908 as a new species of Teratosaurus: T. minor. At that time, Teratosaurus was thought to be a theropod dinosaur, but it was later established as a non-dinosaur rauisuchian in the 1980s. In the same publication, von Huene named Sellosaurus fraasi for a partial skeleton from slightly older rocks. In 1912, Eberhard Fraas reported two partial skeletons (SMNS 12667 and SMNS 12684) as a new species of Thecodontosaurus, but he never described them, leaving the name a nomen nudum. Von Huene later redescribed these as Palaeosaurus (?) diagnosticus in 1932.

Peter Galton reassigned Fraas' specimens to the new genus Efraasia in 1973, because the name Palaeosaurus was problematic. The generic name is a contraction of 'E. Fraas.' In 2003, Adam Yates combined 'Teratosaurus' minor, 'Sellosaurus' fraasi, and 'Palaeosaurus' diagnosticus into a single valid species, Efraasia minor, using the specific name minor due to page priority.
