The 1997 Recopa Sudamericana was the tenth edition of the CONMEBOL Recopa Sudamericana, an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL. The competition was played in Japan, as were the editions from 1994 to 1997. The 1997 edition was won by a Vélez Sársfield team that bowed out from the international limelight with their last title.
