G-Virus Mutation
Evolutionary nightmare forcing the host into grotesque new lifeforms.
The G-Virus is a biological weapon developed by Umbrella, distinct from the T-Virus. It is an agent capable of mutating a human into the ultimate bioweapon. The virus was created by Umbrella scientist William Birkin. Unlike the T-Virus, which turns citizens into zombies, the G-Virus forces the body through grotesque physical transformations, resulting in multiple limbs and enhanced durability. It was designed for rapid evolution and regeneration within a living host, though it comes at the cost of sanity and stability. The G-Virus remains one of the most terrifying examples of bioweaponry gone wrong within the franchise's history.

Lore & Background
Dr. William Birkin, the Umbrella scientist who created the G-Virus, injected himself with the virus in an attempt to protect his life's work from an Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.) team sent by the Umbrella headquarters. The injection turned him into a malformed creature. He killed the U.S.S. team, and caused the T-virus to leak into Raccoon City's drinking water, causing the citizens to become infected. The G-Virus is an agent capable of mutating a human into the ultimate bioweapon. Birkin's transformation was immediate and catastrophic, shifting him from a human scientist into a series of increasingly inhuman abominations. The virus's instability made it unsuitable for mass production, yet its potential was undeniable. Ultimately, Birkin's transformation ended with his destruction, but the threat of the pathogen lingered as a symbol of Umbrella's reckless ambition.
Reader's Guide
The G-Virus represents a distinct branch of biological warfare developed within Umbrella's deepest laboratories. Unlike the T-Virus, which reanimates dead tissue to create mindless zombies, this pathogen focuses on aggressive cellular regeneration and evolution. Its primary goal is to force the host into becoming a new apex predator through rapid physical transformation. William Birkin served as the initial subject after injecting himself during an extraction mission gone wrong.
His body underwent horrific changes, sprouting extra limbs, eyes, and armor-like plating while retaining fragments of his human consciousness. This instability made him incredibly dangerous, capable of surviving massive trauma that would kill any normal organism. Throughout the outbreak in Raccoon City, Birkin shifted through several monstrous forms before finally meeting his end. The virus proved too volatile for mass deployment, yet its existence highlighted Umbrella's ambition to create super soldiers rather than just mindless hordes. This legacy of mutation continues to haunt survivors who remember the nightmare of the G-Abomination.
