History
On November 21, 2023, the USL Super League awarded a franchise to Fort Lauderdale, making it the first professional women's soccer team in South Florida. Tyrone Mears, a former Premier League and MLS player, was announced as the first head coach on January 25, 2024. Felicia Knox became the team's first signing on May 14, 2024, after being drafted by Angel City FC in the 2024 NWSL Draft. The next day, Laveni Vaka joined the club, becoming Tonga's first female professional soccer player.
On June 26, 2024, the full coaching staff was announced, including Alissa Rogers as Associate Head Coach and Aly Hassan as Director of Recruitment. A men's side was announced on April 29, 2025, set to play in USL League One in 2026. In their inaugural season, Fort Lauderdale finished fourth in the table and qualified for the playoffs. They defeated Carolina Ascent 2–1 in extra time to reach the final, where they lost 1–0 to Tampa Bay Sun FC in extra time, finishing as runners-up.
Stadium
In November 2024, the team's home stadium at Nova Southeastern University was rebranded from NSU Soccer Field to Beyond Bancard Field. The $7 million project seats nearly 7,000 fans and resulted from a multi-year naming-rights agreement between FTL UTD and Beyond Bancard, a payment-processing provider. The agreement includes exclusive stadium-wide branding, a new stadium logo, and Beyond Bancard serving as presenting sponsor for weekly kids' soccer clinics, giveaways, content series, and exclusive email offers for fans.
