Background
In Mariner Bay, California, demons led by Diabolico and Queen Bansheera are freed from their tomb. The government group Lightspeed, run by Captain William Mitchell, taps the Morphin' Grid and recruits five people - firefighter Carter Grayson, lifeguard Chad Lee, stunt pilot Joel Rawlings, extreme-sports athlete Kelsey Winslow and Mitchell's paramedic daughter Dana - as Rangers. They are later joined by Mitchell's long-lost son Ryan, who first fought for the demons.
