Background
It reuses footage, costumes and props from the 39th Super Sentai series, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. Its second season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, ran through 2018 as the franchise's twenty-fifth anniversary season and brought back popular Rangers from past seasons.
The villain Galvanax is champion of Galaxy Warriors, the most popular game show in the universe, and wants the Ninja Nexus Prism to make himself invincible. Master Dane Romero breaks the Nexus Star into six Ninja Power Stars to stop him, but Galvanax takes his son Brody. Ten years later Brody escapes with the Prism and the robot Redbot, and in the city of Summer Cove four high school students join him to become the Ninja Steel Power Rangers.
Ninja Steel was the last series with toys by Bandai, and Super Ninja Steel the last season made by Saban Brands before Hasbro acquired the franchise in 2018. It also has Jason David Frank's last appearance as Tommy Oliver.
