Raikou

Raikou (No. 0243) is an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon from the second generation. With Entei and Suicune it makes up the Legendary Beasts, sometimes called the Legendary Dogs, though their designs are mainly based on big cats. Raikou is a tiger-like Pokémon probably inspired by saber-toothed tigers and thunderstorms, and its name combines the Japanese words rai (lightning) and kotei (emperor). Unlike the other beasts it has no dedicated film, appearing instead in three episodes of Pokémon Chronicles.
