Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is a run and gun platformer set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It was developed and published by Rogueside, a Belgian studio that previously made the sidescrolling run and gun game Guns, Gore & Cannoli. The game launched on 20 October 2022 for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch, on 25 October 2022 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and on 2 December 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Players control an Ork warrior leading an invasion of the planet Luteus. They can choose from four classes for their Ork character. Health and grenades are restored through pickups, while teef serve as in-game currency for buying new weapons or cosmetic items. Ammunition is infinite, but weapons must be reloaded when the magazine is empty. Killing enemies fills a WAAAGH meter, which increases fire rate when full. The game uses 2D graphics. Tech lead Baptiste Deboutte described the game as blending platformer, run and gun, and ballistic shooter elements. He highlighted twin-stick controls as a distinctive feature, designed to improve dynamism, and drew comparisons to Metal Slug. The game was first announced in June 2021 during the Warhammer Skulls 2021 livestream. It released on 20 October 2022 for Windows and Nintendo Switch, on 25 October 2022 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and on 2 December 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. According to Metacritic, the game received "generally favorable reviews" on Windows and mixed reviews on Switch. Softpedia praised the integration of mechanics and presentation, calling the combat top notch. PC Gamer commended its replayability and art style. Critics noted the short length as a drawback. The Switch port was criticized for performance issues. Reviews also appeared in Power Unlimited and CG Magazine.
