Reception
Daum Music ranked the song fourth among the best K-pop songs of 2012, while Spin placed it eighth and Popjustice twelfth. In a 2016 survey by The Dong-a Ilbo, music experts voted it the sixth best female idol song of the past 20 years, tying with GFriend's "Rough" and Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy". Commercially, it peaked at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart and its component download chart, selling 630,510 paid downloads in its first week. After three weeks, total downloads reached 1,121,472, and by year's end the song had 2,150,840 downloads, ranking 35th among 2012's best-selling songs in South Korea.
Music video
A 26-second teaser appeared on June 8, 2012, followed by a minute-and-a-half extended teaser on KBS World. The full music video was released on June 12, 2012, and surpassed one million views in under a day and ten million views in under a week. On October 16, 2016, it crossed 100 million views, making f(x) the sixth K-pop group and third K-pop girl group to reach that milestone. Choreography was by Jillian Meyers, who had previously worked with f(x) on "Pinocchio (Danger)" and later on "Rum Pum Pum Pum". The video uses three sets: a pink set with running neon lights resembling a computer chip, a long white room with large white lights and reflective surfaces, and another white room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Five members appear in four different outfit sets. Close-ups alternate with dance sequences, and each member holds an electroshock weapon: Krystal and Amber use tasers, Victoria and Luna use a stun baton, and Sulli uses a defibrillator.
