Background
As the waitress reads out the menu, a group of Vikings in the cafe drowns out every conversation by singing "Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam... Lovely Spam!" The sketch mocks how common Spam was in Britain after the Second World War, and the term spam for junk email comes from it. The original version also had John Cleese as the Hungarian, cut from the audio version on Another Monty Python Record (1971).
