Background
Mocking bureaucratic inefficiency, it casts John Cleese as a bowler-hatted civil servant in an invented government ministry that funds the development of silly walks through grants. Cleese walks in many silly ways throughout, and these walks, more than the dialogue, made the sketch popular. Cleese has named Max Wall's physical comedy as an influence on it.
