The INDELA-I.N.SKY is a Belarusian rotary wing unmanned aerial vehicle developed and produced by KB INDELA Ltd. It is a medium-range helicopter with a weight of up to 140 kg, designed for monitoring, intelligence, surveillance, search and detection of objects, cargo delivery, and payload release. Serial production of the UAV began in 2014.
Background
The INDELA-I.N.SKY is part of the multifunctional unmanned aircraft system INDELA-SKY, which includes two unmanned helicopters and a ground control station (INDELA-GCS) housed in a transport shelter or minibus. The system architecture allows for integration of UAVs of different classes, including those from other manufacturers. Multiple ground control stations can be linked in a single information network for automatic data exchange and coordination of operator activity.
The UAV performs vertical automatic takeoff and landing, automatic flight, and return to the start point in case of communication loss. It operates without a prepared runway, with a system deployment time of up to 15 minutes. The helicopter has four flight modes: Autonomous (following a specified route with editable coordinates), 'To the point' (automatic flight to a specified point, then switching to remotely piloted mode), Remotely Piloted (RPA, for flexible terrain study), and 'Home' (automatic return to takeoff point regardless of previous mode). Flight missions can include over 2000 intermediate points and be edited during execution.
The INDELA-I.N.SKY is equipped with a gyro-stabilized electro-optical system INDELA OGD-20HIR, which includes a thermal imager, color camera, laser rangefinder, video processor, and inertial module. This system enables aerial photography, range determination, and real-time video in color, black-and-white, and infrared on ground control station monitors.
It can detect moving targets and perform automatic tracking day and night. The UAV's construction allows for additional navigation equipment and various payloads such as radiometers, air pollution sensors, direction finding systems, detachable cargo containers, rescue equipment, and special-purpose equipment. It can deliver cargo to exact coordinates and perform dosed payload release.
