VDNKh (Exhibition)
The northernmost station, Artyom's home and the source of the Metro's mushroom tea.
VDNKh, called Exhibition in the video games, is the northernmost inhabited station of the Moscow Metro and Artyom's home. A station on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line, it takes its name from the All-Russia Exhibition Centre on the surface above and was one of the busiest stations in the Metro before the war. After the apocalypse it is a large, powerful station with a stable economy built on mushroom tea that is famous throughout the Metro, wealth that has kept it out of Hansa's grasp and drawn entrepreneurs hoping to do business; it also keeps a large herd of pigs for food, leather and waste disposal.
VDNKh sees itself as civilised, with strict laws, compulsory reading lessons for children and a large library stocked with books from Polis, and its people are comparatively well fed and housed. In 2033 it formed an alliance with Alekseyevskaya and Rizhskaya to the south, linking the stations with telephone lines and lit tunnels into one unified station.
