Lore & Background

The operation was originally called 'Operation Infinite Justice', but the name was changed to avoid offense to Muslims. The U.S. government used the term to officially describe the War in Afghanistan from 7 October 2001 to 31 December 2014. Subordinate operations included OEF-Philippines, OEF-Horn of Africa, OEF-Trans Sahara (later Operation Juniper Shield), OEF-Caribbean and Central America, and OEF-Kyrgyzstan. The operation was a joint U.S., U.K., and Afghan operation, separate from the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

In Their Own Story

The dust hasn't settled from the insertion when the radio crackles. You're crouched behind a crumbling mud-brick wall, the smell of cordite and dry earth thick in your throat. Somewhere past the ridge, a generator hums—enemy position, confirmed by the drone feed two hours ago. Your element fans out across the compound's perimeter, boots silent on packed dirt. The night air is cold, the stars overhead indifferent. A child's plastic toy lies half-buried in the gravel by the gate. You step over it without looking down. The objective is simple: clear the room, confirm the HVT, extract before the sun breaks the eastern ridge. But in this valley, simple is a word the enemy doesn't use.
