Lore & Background
The studio was originally part of DreamWorks Interactive, a joint venture between DreamWorks SKG and Microsoft founded on March 22, 1995. In February 2000, Electronic Arts acquired the Los Angeles studio of DreamWorks Interactive and renamed it EA Los Angeles. The studio focused on developing titles in the Medal of Honor series, releasing Medal of Honor: Underground in 2000. In 2003, EA Los Angeles moved to a new campus in Playa Vista and was merged with EA Pacific, also receiving employees from the closed Westwood Studios, leading the studio to work on the Command & Conquer series. In July 2010, EA Los Angeles was rebranded as Danger Close Games to focus solely on Medal of Honor games. Danger Close was shut down in January 2013 after the Medal of Honor series was put on hold.
In Their Own Story
The rain had stopped, but the mud still held the shape of every boot that had passed through. Sergeant Calloway crouched behind the broken wall, pressing his back against the cold brick, and listened. Somewhere past the flooded ditch, a radio crackled—static, then a voice, then static again. He counted the seconds. Four of them. Five. His squad was out there in the grey, and the only sound was the wet slap of water against concrete and the slow drip from the eaves above.
He pulled his rifle across his chest, checked the chamber out of habit, and looked at the two men still with him. One was young—too young, the kind of young that made you want to send him back to a kitchen where someone was frying eggs. The other was quiet, the kind of quiet that meant he'd already made his peace with what was coming. Calloway nodded. They moved. The mud swallowed their footsteps. The radio crackled again, and this time it was orders, and the grey world narrowed to the next twenty meters, the next breath, the next choice.
That was the world they built. No fanfare. Just the next twenty meters.
