Hawk
The mud of Normandy is the only ground that matters when you're dropping in blind.
Hawk is a US Army Airborne paratrooper and one of the playable soldiers in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (2002). He represents the airborne assault component of the Normandy invasion, giving players the experience of dropping by parachute into occupied France and fighting on the ground behind enemy lines during Operation Overlord.
As a campaign avatar, Hawk is distinct from the ground-assault and naval characters in the same title. His missions center on the paratrooper's perspective of D-Day: the jump, the chaos of landing in the wrong place, and the immediate combat that follows once boots hit the mud of Normandy.

Lore & Background
In the Allied Assault campaign, Hawk is a member of the US Army Airborne tasked with the high-risk mission of infiltrating Normandy by parachute ahead of the seaborne landings. His role is that of a shock-trooper: drop, find your objective, and hold until the main assault arrives. The game places the player in his boots for a sequence of missions that trace the paratrooper's experience from the belly of a transport aircraft through the disorienting descent to close-quarters fighting in hedgerows, barns, and village streets.
Hawk's narrative is deliberately grounded in the chaos of the airborne drop. Unlike the more linear ground-assault characters in the same game, his missions emphasize disorientation, isolation, and the need to improvise. He may land far from his intended drop zone, lose contact with his team, and have to push forward with whatever weapons and ammunition he has on his person. This design choice mirrors the historical reality of D-Day paratrooper drops, where only a fraction of airborne troops landed within a mile of their target.
As a character, Hawk is defined less by a personal backstory and more by the physicality of his role: the weight of the parachute rig, the cold of the English Channel crossing, the thud of boots on Normandy soil. He is the player's proxy for the airborne soldier's experience of June 1944.
Reader's Guide
Hawk debuts in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (2002) as the US Army Airborne playable character. He is the paratrooper avatar, distinct from the ground-assault and naval soldiers in the same campaign. His missions take place during the Normandy invasion, and the player experiences the airborne drop, the disorienting landing, and the immediate small-unit combat that follows. His signature moment for fans is the parachute insertion sequence itself—the player controls the descent, the landing, and the scramble to weapons before the first German contact. Hawk's campaign is shorter than some of the other characters' arcs but is widely remembered for the intensity of its early-morning Normandy fights and the feeling of being dropped behind lines with no backup. He does not appear as a named character in any other installment of the Medal of Honor series to date.
