Ragna Rock

Lore & Background

Ragna Rock is a mobile cross-dimensional satellite launched by Darkseid, as detailed in the DC x Sonic the Hedgehog miniseries. It is used by Darkseid to enter Sonic's universe, where he seeks the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds. The narrative involves Darkseid's invasion of Sonic's world, rather than the Justice League hunting him for launching the satellite. During the story, Dr. Eggman is present but does not fight the satellite itself; instead, the conflict involves Darkseid and the heroes.

The combined teams of Sonic's friends and the Justice League battle Darkseid as the Dimensional Engine begins to destabilize. The satellite is also the location where the final confrontation takes place: Cyborg and Tails build a device to resonate with the Chaos Emerald in Darkseid's possession, and the teams break through the Ragna Rock to confront him. The satellite's role is pivotal in the narrative, serving as both a means of travel and a battleground.

Reader's Guide

Ragna Rock is introduced in the first DC x Sonic the Hedgehog miniseries (released March 2025) as Darkseid's mobile cross-dimensional satellite. It is the means by which Darkseid enters Sonic's universe to seek the Chaos Emeralds. The Justice League had been hunting Darkseid after he launched the Ragna Rock. In the story, Dr. Eggman arrives and fights off the Ragna Rock. The satellite is also where the final confrontation occurs: the teams break through the Ragna Rock to confront Darkseid, and Cyborg and Tails' device is used to restore reality. The Ragna Rock is a key plot device, enabling the crossover between the Sonic and DC universes.
