Lore & Background

The Aesir Corporation developed Valkyr, a drug produced under military contract to create super-soldiers. The project was terminated after most subjects went insane. B.B. Hensley, head of security, secretly sold Valkyr for personal profit and killed Max Payne's wife Michelle after she found incriminating evidence. The building's exterior was created using computer graphics by Mr.X, based on geometry found via Google Earth.

Reader's Guide

Max Payne follows B.B. back to the Aesir Corporation's headquarters. Assisted by Mona Sax, he shoots his way through the building's security, eventually confronting and killing B.B. on the building's helipad.

Did You Know?

• The outside top half of the building was completely made of CG by Mr.X.
• No location could be found for a rooftop helipad, so a set was built in front of a green screen.
• Soho VFX attached the helipad to the building and set it atop New York City.
• It took eight weeks in pre-production to build the set and another week for the special effects team to install the squibs.
