Background
Each eight-episode season followed top Madden players, each backed by a real NFL player sponsor, as they played elimination tournaments while travelling the country on the Madden Nation Bus toward the finals in New York City and a $100,000 grand prize. The final game of every season was played in Times Square on the ABC Super Sign. A device called Coach Cam had players reveal their play calls to viewers before certain snaps. The first season began in San Francisco with eight hand-picked Madden 06 players, and Rob "Duka" Taylor beat Sherman "Sherm Sticky" Jameson to win it.
