Marvin the Martian
A diminutive Martian commander whose Earth-shattering kaboom plans are perpetually foiled by Bugs Bunny.
Marvin the Martian is an anthropomorphic extraterrestrial villain from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series, instantly recognizable by his Roman soldier's helmet and skirt. First appearing in the 1948 cartoon Haredevil Hare as the antagonist known then only as the Commander of Flying Saucer X-2, he was officially named Marvin for The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie in 1979 due to merchandising interests. Voiced originally by Mel Blanc and later by Joe Alaskey, Bob Bergen, and Eric Bauza, Marvin is a soft-spoken character with a nasally voice similar to Claude Cat. He consistently attempts to destroy Earth because it obstructs his view of Venus, utilizing technobabble and specific explosive devices to achieve this goal over two millennia.

Lore & Background
Marvin hails from Mars but is frequently found elsewhere, often accompanied by his dog K-9. His design draws directly from Hoplite armor worn by the Roman god Mars, featuring a green helmet and skirt over a red suit (though early shorts featured a green suit with golden armor). His head is a black sphere with only eyes, leading Bugs Bunny to once describe him as a "bowling ball wearing a spittoon." Marvin speaks in technobabble and is famous for specific quotes: "Where's the kaboom?
There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom!", "Isn't that lovely?", and his trademark huffing complaint, "This makes me very angry, very angry indeed." His primary weapon is the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator (sometimes pronounced Illudium Pu-36 or Uranium Pu-36), a device he laboriously over-pronounces to distinguish it from other explosives. The "Pu" references plutonium. He also utilizes candy-sized "Instant Martians" that grow full-size when water is added.
