Death Toll
Through the tunnel, the drains and Riverside to a boat at the end of the line.

Death Toll is the third campaign in the original Left 4 Dead; it was the second until the Crash Course DLC was slotted in before it. Its five chapters are The Turnpike, The Drains, The Church, The Town and the Boathouse Finale. The Survivors are heading for the small town of Riverside on little more than a rumour that the military may be holding out there, aware that they have no better option. The campaign was ported to Left 4 Dead 2 on September 16, 2011, with that game's weapons and Infected and some map changes.

Lore & Background
On the way to Riverside the group must get over a broken highway, through a road tunnel and a drain system, across an old trainyard, past the Riverside First Church and through the overrun remains of the town and its picnic spot, before a small fishing boat run by a couple named John and Amanda Slater carries them away from the boathouse. Valve has said less about Death Toll than about its other campaigns, and it is often read as an extension of the gameplay players first met in Mercy Hospital.
Reader's Guide
Death Toll spans five chapters. Expect a tunnel and drains that Francis complains about, a trainyard, the Riverside First Church, the overrun town and a finale at the boathouse where the team holds out until the Slaters' boat arrives. In the Left 4 Dead 2 port the Drains and Town chapters were cosmetically changed and supply spawns were made more random.
