Synopsis

Nicholas "Nick" McClary, a 10-year-old boy, owns a baseball glove that was struck by a miniature shooting star, giving it the power to grant wishes when punched three times. The glove can only be used once per week, and each wish expires shortly after being cast, often at the worst possible moment. Each story, introduced by a live-action prologue featuring Culkin, follows Nick's wishes and the trouble that ensues. Nick's best friend Darryl Singletary is the only one who knows the secret and often gets caught up in the adventures. The neighborhood bully Francis "Frankie" Dutweiler frequently antagonizes them. Other characters include Nick's parents Mel and Adrienne McClary, his younger sister Katie, his dog Slobber, and nosy neighbor Mrs. Opal.
