Velcra, a Finnish rock band formed in 2000, blended clean and distorted female vocals with heavily distorted guitars, marching beats, and extensive sample loops. After signing with Virgin Records, they released their debut album, *Consequences of Disobedience*, in 2002. The singles "Can't Stop Fighting" and "My Law" propelled the band to number five on the Finnish charts, followed by the singles "Big Brother" and "Test Animals." Their 2005 album, *Between Force and Fate*, marked a shift to a heavier sound, dropping the catchy pop choruses of their debut—evident in tracks like "For My Loneliness I Pay"—and the single "Our Will Against Their Will" reached number three in Finland. Music videos were released for "Memory Loss", "Quick and Dirty", and "Dusk Becomes a Dawn". In June 2006, drummer Mikko Herranen departed to focus on his other band, RUST. The band’s third album, *Hadal*, came out on 30 May 2007, with videos for "Quick and Dirty" and "Dusk Becomes a Dawn" (the latter also a single) released that year. In early 2008, the band parted ways with guitarist Timo Hänninen replacing the outgoing member.
Members included vocalist Jessi Frey, bassist Ramonius, guitarist/programmer O.D., keyboardist/sampler DJ Freak, and guitarist Timo Hänninen. Former members were bassists Teppo Hudson (2001–2005, left to study Arts Management and pursue a solo career in London), Wille Hartonen, drummer Mikko Herranen (2001–2006), and guitarist Tomi Koivusaari (who concentrated on his other band, Amorphis). The band’s discography consists of *Consequences of Disobedience* (2002), *Between Force and Fate* (2005), and *Hadal* (2007).
