Saddolls (stylised SadDoLLs) are a Greek gothic metal band that started in 2006 as a cover group. After a handful of live shows, they recorded the EP *Dead in the Dollhouse* in 2007, which earned favourable press. In April 2008, they supported Lacrimas Profundere at a gig in Athens.
The band have put out three studio albums. Their first, *About Darkness*, came out in Europe on the Greek label Emotion Art Music. The second, *Happy Deathday*, was released in January 2012 through Italy’s Lunatic Asylum Records and Twilight worldwide. The third, *Grave Party*, arrived worldwide via Inverse Records in April 2014. As of May 2016, the band are signed to the German label Trisol Music Group.
**History**
*About Darkness (2009)* In June 2008, Saddolls went into Fragile Studios to record their debut full-length, *About Darkness*. They self-financed the album, which was mixed and produced by Vangelis Yalamas and mastered by John Petrolias. Early in 2009, they signed with Greek label Emotion Art Music. At the official release party, the first music video, for “Watch Me Crawl Behind,” premiered exclusively. The band then toured Greece and made TV appearances on *Mad Day Live*, *Radio Arvyla*, and *TV War*. In October 2009, they opened for Paradise Lost at Gagarin 205 live stage. After releasing a second video, “Misery,” directed by Vangelis Yalamas, they opened for Xandria in Athens on 8 May 2010.
*Happy Deathday (2012)* After their contract with Emotion Art ended, the band recorded their second album, *Happy Deathday*, at Soundflakes Studios with producer John Mcris. The album includes guest appearances from Jape Perätalo (To/Die/For), Jussi-Mikko Salminen (HIM), Roberth Karlsson (Scar Symmetry), and Morgan Laxroix and Terry Horn (Mandragora Scream). The band signed with Italian label Lunatic Asylum Records and released the album worldwide on 20 January 2012. Their German management was handled by Silke Ily Sirnio (HIM). The first single, “Bloodred,” appeared on the February issue of *Sonic Seducer*’s compilation CD *Cold Hands Seduction Vol.128*. The band again opened for Lacrimas Profundere in Athens on 7 April 2012, and in September they supported Moonspell in Athens and Thessaloniki. They shot a video for the next single, “Psychedelic Love,” featuring Roberth Karlsson.
