Millennium (Jahrtausend) is the neo-Nazi paramilitary organisation that serves as the main antagonist of Hellsing. It was formed during the Second World War on Adolf Hitler's direct order as a project to weaponise vampirism, under the codename of the Last Battalion.

Background
Its first research site in Warsaw was destroyed in 1944 by Alucard and Walter during the Warsaw Uprising, but its leaders survived and regrouped towards the end of the war. Millennium was first led by a cabal of former SS officers, the Old Men of the Opera House, until the Major and his followers executed them in a bloody coup. Its researchers found a way to turn humans into vampires artificially, and it sent expendable vampires to stage attacks across the United Kingdom, monitoring them through implanted computer chips. After the coup the Major declares war on Hellsing and the United Kingdom, intending a global war without end, and carries his forces to England in a fleet of armoured zeppelins. The attack on London turns out to be a plan to end Alucard's existence.
