Yoko Littner is a young woman from Littner, a village neighboring Giha, introduced as a member of a small resistance against the beastmen. She helps introduce Simon and Kamina to the surface world and becomes a member of Team Gurren soon after. She falls in love with Kamina early in the series, and thinks little of Simon until he begins showing signs of self-confidence. After Kamina's death, she tries to help Simon cope and forms a sisterly relationship with him. Instead of piloting a Gunmen, she wields a high-powered energy rifle and uses her marksmanship and wise counsel to aid her teammates.

Lore & Background
Yoko Littner hails from Littner, a surface village neighboring Giha, where she was already fighting the beastmen before meeting Simon and Kamina. She is the one who pursues a giant Gunmen into Giha village, leading to Simon's discovery of Lagann and the trio's escape to the surface. She falls in love with Kamina, and after his death at the hands of one of Lordgenome's four generals, she helps Simon cope with his depression, forming a sisterly bond with him. Unlike the mecha pilots, Yoko relies on a high-powered energy rifle and her own marksmanship, providing tactical support and wise counsel throughout the war against Lordgenome and later the Anti-Spirals.
