Game System
Each faction has its own models, or types, of Mobile Suit, each with its own speciality and purpose. The two warring forces are the E.F.F (Earth Federation Forces) and The Principality of Zeon. Many Mobile Suits from the first Gundam series appear. Players can customize mobile suits ranging from color to weapons. The Wii remote is used to aim and shoot, while the nunchuk's control stick moves the character. Pressing A over a highlighted weapon or supply picks it up. The Z button jumps or dashes, and the C button locks on to the nearest enemy. The B button fires the weapon in hand, and the minus button switches weapons. Holding A enters melee mode when within range, drawing the mobile suit's melee weapon; swinging the remote vertically and horizontally attacks. A+B enables blocking in melee range. Players fight alongside up to two AI-controlled allies, and pressing the 1 button switches between nine squad formations. The story follows events of Universal Century 0079 from the perspective of two teams of rookie pilots: the Earth Federation's SRT Unit 1 and the Principality of Zeon's Blaugher Team. An ace pilot mode lets players control famous characters such as Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.
