Plot

Set decades after the original series, the story follows Sawa Mitoma, a shy and self-conscious girl who begins her first year at Kaibara Municipal High School. After a teacher confronts her, Mutsuki Sohma intervenes and later asks her to the student council room, where she accidentally steps on Hajime Sohma's face. The next day, both boys help her with her landlord, and Sawa, feeling like a burden, cries in front of them. They console her, and she asks to make amends for injuring Hajime. Mutsuki makes her a student council member, and though reluctant, she agrees to improve herself. Unaware of the Sohma family's nature, Sawa works to overcome her self-deprecation and builds self-esteem through their nurturing support.

Publication

Natsuki Takaya wrote and illustrated the manga, which began on Hakusensha's HanaLaLa Online website on September 4, 2015. It moved to Manga Park in August 2017 after HanaLaLa Online ended. Originally planned for twelve chapters and three volumes, a one-shot became the thirteenth and final chapter, released on April 20, 2020 in three parts. The chapters were collected into four volumes. Yen Press licensed the series for English publication in November 2017.
