Background
Two months after the Camp Crystal Lake murders, sole survivor Alice Hardy finds Pamela Voorhees' severed head in her refrigerator and is killed with an ice pick by an unseen intruder. In 1984 Paul Holt opens a school for camp counselors on the shore of Crystal Lake, attended by his assistant Ginny Field, Sandra, her boyfriend Jeff, Scott, Terry, the paraplegic Mark, Vickie, Ted and other trainees. Around the campfire Paul tells the legend of Jason, the boy who drowned at the camp in 1957, whose vengeful mother went on killing sprees in 1958 and 1979 until Alice killed her in self-defence; according to the legend Jason survived and lives in the woods. An unknown stalker then begins killing the counselors.
