Background

Tina Shepard's defining trait is her telekinetic power, which she first manifested as a child when she caused a dock to collapse, drowning her father during a violent argument. Years later, she returns to the same lake with her mother and Dr. When Jason is resurrected from the lake's depths by Tina's psychic energy, she becomes his primary target. Throughout the film Tina learns to control her powers, and after her battle with Jason an apparition of her father drags him back to the bottom of Crystal Lake. Her arc moves from a frightened, guilt-ridden young woman to a determined survivor who confronts both her inner demons and the external monster.
