Humains, a French horror film released in 2009, was co-directed by Pierre-Olivier Thévenin and Jacques-Olivier Molon. The cast includes Sara Forestier, Dominique Pinon, and Philippe Nahon. The plot concerns a French research team heading to the Swiss Alps to examine a find; after a car crash, they and a group of tourists become stranded in the mountains, pursued by shadowy hunters.
Filming took place in late 2008 in Luxembourg, Paris, and the Swiss Alps, under the working title "Les Disparus de Lötschental." Yolande Moreau was originally set to play the lead role of Charlotte but left the project, leading to the character being rewritten as Nadia, played by Sara Forestier. The score was composed by Gast Waltzing, a Luxembourg cinema composer.
The film premiered on 6 February 2009 at the European Film Market in Germany, and later appeared at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival on 11 April 2009. Its French theatrical release followed on 22 April 2009. During its opening week in France, it drew approximately 30,000 admissions. Critics universally panned the film.
