The film follows Dr. Rainer von Frankenstein, who captures Count Dracula and, with the help of his monster, uses the vampire for his own evil ends. The plot begins with Dr. Seward staking Dracula, whose remains transform into a bat. Frankenstein later revives Dracula using a kidnapped cabaret singer's blood, but Seward, aided by gypsies, raids the castle, leading Frankenstein to destroy his creations and flee.

The score by Bruno Nicolai largely reuses music from his earlier works Marquis de Sade: Justine and Count Dracula. The film received mixed to negative reviews: La Vanguardia praised the cinematography but found it interfered with the narrative, while Variety and L'Écran fantastique criticized it as clichéd and derivative. The film was shot in November 1971 at locations in Spain and Portugal, and a version with more nudity was created for the 1972 Cannes Film Market. It was released on Blu-ray by Severin Films in January 2024, assembled from multiple prints.
