French horror film set during the Algerian War.
Djinns (also known as Stranded) is a 2010 French horror film written and directed by Hugues Martin and Sandra Martin. Set during the Algerian War in 1960, the film follows a group of French paratroopers who, after searching for a missing plane, take refuge in a citadel and awaken malevolent desert spirits called djinns.

Lore & Background
Djinns was shot entirely in Morocco. Nicolas Duvauchelle was originally cast in December 2007 but was replaced by Saïd Taghmaoui as Aroui on 20 January 2009. The film was produced by Caroline Adrian, Antoine Rein, and Fabrice Goldstein for Delante Films. The score was composed by French electronica musician Siegfried Canto.
