Anais, the intellectual pink rabbit sister, is voiced by Kinza Syed Khan. Nicole, the temperamental blue cat mother, is voiced by Teresa Gallagher, while Dan Russell voices her lazy rabbit husband Richard. Additional voice actors include Max Cazier, Maria Teresa Creasey, Sandra Searles Dickinson, and others.
Production
A seventh season and film adaptation of The Amazing World of Gumball were announced in September 2021, with the film intended to conclude the original program and establish a new beginning. At the 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the seventh season was confirmed in production, and an EIDR listing indicated 40 episodes. In 2024, Warner Bros. Animation confirmed full production and previewed the episode "The Burger." On May 19, 2025, the series was retitled The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, with all three Watterson children recast: Alkaio Thiele, Hero Hunter, and Kinza Syed Khan replaced previous voice actors, while Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell returned. German-based Studio Soi and French-based Bobbypills provide animation and storyboard services. Executive producers Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain previously worked on Battle Kitty. The series was branded as a revival but referred to as the seventh season during production. The season finale, "The Rewrite," resolves the cliffhanger from the original series' season 6 finale. Production on the first season concluded in October 2025. A second season was announced for December 22, 2025, in the US and February 2026 internationally. On December 18, 2025, the series was renewed for a third and fourth season totaling 40 episodes.
Reception
The series debuted with 363 million minutes watched in its first week, ranking 10th in most streamed originals according to Nielsen. Fernanda Camargo of Common Sense Media rated it three out of five stars, noting increased social and political commentary that may be challenging for younger viewers. David Kaldor of Bubbleblabber.com gave a 7 out of 10, observing that characters remain unchanged from the end of the previous series.
