Reader's Guide
In the 1962-63 European Cup it beat Vasas in a deciding match on 12 December 1962 and reached the semi-final against Benfica in May 1963, when hundreds of thousands lined the Nieuwe Maas and the Nieuwe Waterweg to wave off two ships carrying fans to Lisbon. Feijenoord won its first league and cup double in 1965, which brought a European Cup tie with Real Madrid that September, and a second double in 1969 sent it into the 1969-70 European Cup. Coen Moulijn, Willem van Hanegem and Ove Kindvall led the club through the 1960s and 1970s to six league titles, two European trophies and an Intercontinental Cup.
