Marcel Bezençon Awards
The awards for the best songs of each Eurovision final.
The Marcel Bezençon Awards were first handed out at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn to honour the best songs in the final. They were founded by Christer Björkman, Sweden's 1992 entrant and later head of its delegation, and Richard Herrey of the Herreys, winners for Sweden in 1984, and are named after Marcel Bezençon, the creator of the contest. They are sanctioned by the European Broadcasting Union but not presented during the final; since 2009 the trophies have been handed out before the final. The awards come in three categories, one of them voted on by the accredited press.
