What the cited sources add
The Sportico report states that team president David Sobotka said keeping the team in Binghamton was a priority when they bought it.[2] The same report notes that Diamond Baseball Holdings’ reputation for investing in communities like Binghamton was cited by Sobotka.[2] The Chris Creamer’s SportsLogos.Net article noted that most minor league name-the-team contests are considered a farce.[4] That article also predicted that fans would initially hate the new name but then embrace it.[4]
The article listed the six finalist names and their meanings, including the Bullheads for the bullhead catfish in the Susquehanna River.[4]
