Medea

Trode's daughter, cursed into a horse in Dragon Quest VIII.

Medea is the princess of Trodain in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King and the daughter of King Trode. When the jester Dhoulmagus casts his spell on the castle, Trode becomes a toad-like creature and Medea is turned into a horse, and the two travel with the hero as non-player companions while he hunts Dhoulmagus to lift the curse. Both are restored once Rhapthorne, the demon lord behind Dhoulmagus, is defeated. Later the hero escorts her to Savella Cathedral for an arranged marriage to Prince Charmles of Argonia, and the two of them flee before the ceremony; in the unlockable extended ending the hero turns out to be Argonia's lost prince and is allowed to marry her.
