Kami's Lookout
The home of Earth's guardian and his attendant Mr. Popo.
Kami's Lookout is the home of Earth's guardian deity in Dragon Ball. It lies above Korin's tower, where the minor deity Korin lives, while Bora and his son Upa guard the tower's base.
Lore & Background
Kami, creator of Earth's Dragon Balls, served as Earth's guardian until the second half of Dragon Ball Z. He and King Piccolo were once one Namekian who expelled his evil to become guardian; if either dies, so does the other, and the Dragon Balls disappear. His attendant is the genie-like Mr. Popo.
Reader's Guide
Kami's real name is never given; "kami" is the generic Japanese word for a god.
Mr. Popo easily beats Goku in their first skirmish, then helps Kami train him for three years before his fight with Piccolo at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. Popo later trains Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu and Yajirobe for the Saiyans' arrival. When Dende becomes Earth's new guardian, Mr. Popo serves him in turn.
