Roshan's Pit

The lair of Roshan, the strongest neutral creep on the Dota 2 map.

Roshan's Pit is the den of Roshan, the most powerful neutral creep in Dota 2, a boss either team can kill for special rewards such as an item that lets its holder come back once after dying. In the current map there are two pits, tucked into the far north-west and south-east corners near the Twin Gates, and Roshan moves to the Dire-side pit at night and back to the Radiant-side pit by day.

Background

Each pit is a U-shaped hollow that opens toward the middle of the map. Roshan can only be attacked by units standing inside the pit, though spells can reach him from anywhere, and vision into and out of the pit is blocked. Observer and Sentry Wards cannot be placed inside it.
