Aghanim's Shard

A consumable crystal shard that upgrades or adds a hero ability.

Aghanim's Shard is a Consumables item in the Base Shop. Its passive, Ability Upgrade, either improves one of the hero's existing abilities or gives the hero a new one; the exact effect is different for each hero. A Shard can also be earned as a reward for killing the Tormentor.

Background

Its lore says its origin is known to only one wizard, and that pieces of the crystal are wanted almost as much as the famous Aghanim's Scepter.
