Kamado family
The charcoal-making line descended from Sumiyoshi, keepers of the Hinokami Kagura, of whom only Tanjiro and Nezuko survive.
The Kamado family is a line of charcoal makers and the descendants of Sumiyoshi, a close friend of Yoriichi Tsugikuni and the progenitor of the Hinokami Kagura, created as a promise to preserve Yoriichi's Sun Breathing through his descendants. After Muzan murdered them in an attempt to sire a sunlight-immune demon, its sole survivors are Tanjiro and Nezuko.

Background
Tanjuro Kamado, husband of Kie and father of Tanjiro and Nezuko, passed his earrings and the Hinokami Kagura to Tanjiro; despite a frail body and illness he was skilled in the style, never tiring during his yearly night-long dance in frigid weather and able to decapitate a large bear with ease. After his death Kie took care of the children by herself, with Tanjiro's help, and kept the family happy until her own death. Takeo, the third child and Tanjiro's first younger brother, was more reserved and introverted than the rest; Hanako, the fourth child, and Shigeru, the fifth, both adored Tanjiro and wanted to follow him when he left to sell charcoal, and both were killed before he returned. Rokuta, the youngest, was killed despite Nezuko's efforts to protect him, and she is often reminded of him when she sees other humans.
Sumiyoshi, the ancestor who befriended Yoriichi, developed the Hinokami Kagura from a demonstration Yoriichi gave to him and his family, and received from Yoriichi the Hanafuda earrings Tanjiro wears. In modern times the line continues through Tanjiro and Kanao's descendants: Sumihiko Kamado, a 15-year-old who resembles Tanjiro, and his 16-year-old older brother Kanata, who resembles Kanao.
