Minoru Tanaka

Minoru Tanaka is the main character of the one-shot sequel The a-Kira Story (also called Death Note: Special One-Shot). Set years after Light's death, it sees Ryuk give the Death Note to Minoru, the top-scoring student in Japan.

Background
Instead of using the notebook, Minoru decides to auction it. He sends Ryuk with his instructions to Sakura TV and starts a hashtag for the sale, and governments around the world bid; Near names him 'A-Kira'. The United States wins with a bid of ten trillion dollars, paid out equally into the savings account of every Japanese person aged 60 or under.
