Description
The ride operated at a moderate speed compared to similar attractions. Riders sat theater-style facing one direction, secured by lap bars. Up to thirty-two people could ride at once, with a minimum height of 42 inches. The ride rotated clockwise and counter-clockwise around its axle, coming close to the ceiling. The base color was formerly yellow with blue support legs, and the gondola was mainly yellow with star elements. From the park's opening in 1992 until 2006, Woodstock was featured on the mechanical building behind the attraction, though the ride was not themed to a specific Peanuts character. On July 7, 2015, the park announced the last chance to ride would be July 11, 2015. In November 2015, it was replaced by Shredder's Mutant Masher, themed to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villain. On August 15, 1998, 14 days after the Log Chute accident, an 8-year-old girl suffered a heart attack after riding The Screaming Yellow Eagle, which was operating properly; she died as a result of heart problems.
