AWP
The series' iconic one-shot sniper rifle.
The AWP is a high-powered bolt-action sniper rifle in the Counter-Strike series, available to both teams, with a 5-round magazine in Counter-Strike 2 and Global Offensive (10 rounds in earlier games). It is a devastatingly powerful long-range weapon with extreme accuracy. Counter-Terrorists cannot buy it in Assassination maps, but can pick it up from fallen Terrorists. The rifle is based on the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare series.

Did You Know?
- The AWP in Global Offensive was supposed to have an all-black finish, as shown in the launch trailer.
- In Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero the third-person AWP model is unusually short, almost as short as the AK-47; this was fixed in Source.
