Negev
A real-world desert region in southern Israel, not a Counter-Strike weapon.
The Negev ( NEG-ev; Hebrew: הַנֶּגֶב, romanized: haNégev) or Naqab (Arabic: النقب, romanized: an-Naqab) is the name for a desert and semidesert area in southern Israel. Today, it forms the bulk of the Southern District of Israel, whose largest city and administrative capital is Beersheba (pop. 223,587), in the north of the Negev. At its southern end lie the Gulf of Aqaba and the resort city and port of Eilat. It contains several development towns, including Dimona, Arad, and Mitzpe Ramon, as well as a number of small Bedouin towns, including Rahat, Tel Sheva, and Lakiya. There are also several kibbutzim, including Revivim and Sde Boker; the latter became the home of Israel's first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion, after his retirement from politics.

Lore & Background
The Negev is a real-world desert region in southern Israel, not a weapon. It covers more than half of Israel, over some 13,000 km², forming an inverted triangle shape. The Hebrew meaning of Negev denoting 'arid land' appears to have been borrowed from Aramaic, originating from the Akkadian word nagbu, meaning 'groundwater'. In Arabic, the Negev is known as an-Naqab or an-Naqb ('the [mountain] pass'). The Negev contains the oldest continuously exposed surface discovered on Earth, with an approximate age of 1.8 million years. It is a rocky desert with five ecological regions: northern, western and central Negev, the high plateau and the Arabah Valley.
In Their Own Story
The dust in the tunnel was thick enough to taste. Kova checked the magazine indicator one last time—100, full, no room for doubt. Around him, the team was stacking, grenades in hand, waiting for the call. He didn't need a call. He needed a door.
The site opened like a wound. He stepped through the gap and the Negev screamed, a continuous, grinding bark that turned the air into a curtain of copper. Two figures in the far corner dissolved into the spray, their heads snapping back, their cover crumbling under the weight of rounds that never stopped coming. The magazine counter fell. Ninety-eight. Ninety-five. Ninety-two.
He didn't stop. He couldn't stop. There was no pistol in his back pocket, no flash to wave, no way to fall back. There was only the door, the dust, and the slow, steady drain of a hundred rounds into a world that was trying to kill him. By the time the counter read sixty, the site was empty. By the time it read forty, his arms were shaking. By the time it read twenty, he was already walking toward the next door.
The round ended. He dropped the gun. His hands were still trembling, and the smell of cordite sat in his throat like a second heartbeat.
