Arizona Diamondbacks
The NL West's two newest clubs: a 2007 NLCS sweep for Colorado, a 2017 Wild Card win for Arizona.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, based in Phoenix and playing at Chase Field, joined the NL West as an expansion club in 1998, five years after the Rockies. Both club histories describe an on-and-off rivalry between the division's two newest teams.

Background
Arizona's first major league game, on March 31, 1998, was against Colorado. The Diamondbacks won the World Series in 2001, their fourth season. The clubs have met twice in the postseason: in the 2007 NLCS the Wild Card Rockies swept the division-champion Diamondbacks on the way to their only pennant, and in the 2017 Wild Card Game at Chase Field Arizona won 11-8. The two teams also share a spring training home, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, opened in 2011.
