Don Mancini
The creator of Child's Play and the writer of every original-series film.
Don Mancini (born January 25, 1963) is an American screenwriter, director and producer who created the Child's Play franchise. He co-wrote the 1988 original and wrote all seven films of the original series, began directing with Seed of Chucky (2004), went on to direct Curse of Chucky (2013) and Cult of Chucky (2017), and created and ran the Chucky television series. He had no part in the 2019 remake. Mancini has said the idea grew out of the Cabbage Patch Kids craze he watched as a UCLA film student, and he has described working queer themes into the films.
